Group fitness classes explained

Work on your abdominal muscles and core stability in this 15 minute training.

A combination of pilates and yoga. Enhance your flexibility, strength, control and consciousness of the body through a wide array of pilates and yoga poses.

BBB is a training for the three B’s: belly (abdomen), buttocks and legs (in Dutch ‘benen’). You start with a low-impact warming-up followed by various exercises for the aforementioned muscle groups.

Beat cycle
An energetic cycle workout with a high fun-factor and exhilarating music. What do you do in a Beat Cycle class? Mainly cycling of course, but you can expect some dance moves and exercises while cycling! You will build up your endurance and shape your body, along with some entertainment. You can go all the way, or just take it easy and enjoy the vibe.

Body weight training
In this circuit class we mostly do body weight exercises, with the help of some tools such as fitness bands to increase or decrease resistance. We also use kettlebells, bosu, steps and more to keep challenging you.

Always dreamed of having a round and strong booty? Then check out this 25 minute workout! Booty consists of strength and conditioning exercises specialized to shape your buttocks.

Eager to master a handstand or pull-up? Maybe even a human flag or muscle up? This is your chance to defy gravity! Take yourself to the next level and start to train like a gymnast. Calisthenics is taugth at ASC. Also consider our calisthenics course at ClubWest.

This training focusses on – you guessed it – your core. This functional 25-minute training includes exercises that activate your abdomen, back, and multiple other muscle groups that work together to strengthen and tone your core.

This is a workout on a spinning bike under guidance of an instructor. During this ‘cycle tour’ you can adjust speed, resistance, and your posture (sitting/standing). The stimulating effects of music can give just that extra impulse. You are free to decide what intensity suits you.

Essentrics is an effective toning workout to music. Dynamic stretches and fluid movements will quickly result in strong, lean and flexible muscles. You work on a slim silhouette, more flexibility, and a better posture. You do not need weights or fancy steps for this. This class is suitable for all members regardless of level, age or sex.

Fitness circuit
This is a circuit training consiting of all the various excercises that can be performed in the gym. In addition to enhancing your strenght and endurance, this training challenges your overall coordination.

High yoga
A yoga inspired class with a touch of high intensity. The focus lies on dynamic movements assisted by upbeat music. During class, you will work on strength and flexibility with an elevated heart rate. You finish with a moment of relaxation. Leaving you with chill mode ON.

High Intensity Interval Training (HIIT) consists of short periods of intense exercise, followed by short breaks. In this 30 minute workout you will improve your general condition, but also your speed and strength, by using simple materials and your body weight. All that in less than 30 minutes.

Outdoor fitness
Want to play outside? Check this outdoor fitness workout. Prawler, huge tires, hammers and rope are the materials you are going to use. Only in very very very bad weather we move indoors.

Your key words in Pilates: body posture and control, suppleness, breathing, and consciousness. You do predominantly floor exercises which cover every posture muscle in your body, especially the abdomen, back and buttocks. The exercises are performed in a slow and fluid manner in conjunction with your breathing. During a Pilates class, it isn’t about the number of repetitions and exhausting yourself – it’s about the care and precision with which you execute the movements. The result: a better posture and more supple body.

Pump is a group barbell workout on music. There are no steps or dance combinations, just simple and efficient exercises with barbells and dumbbells. Pump is strongly linked to regular fitness activities.

An intense class in which you perform various punch and kick techniques against a punch bag to upbeat music. Go for it and grow fitter and stronger. You do not need a background in combat sports.

It’s all in the name: in this class you’ll train and shape your entire body. You can expect anything ranging from aerobics to barbell exercises, high impact, and endurance. You’ll work on endurance, as well as on cardio and strength.

A high intensity cardio and strength training. Low pace and heavy weights alternated by high rythm excercises with lighter weights. Various attributes will be used during the training, like kickbags, steps, ropes, and kettlebells. All exercises are easy to follow for all participants. Nonstop sweating guaranteed!

An energetic cardio class using a step! You will learn a choreography consisting of a variaty of moves on, over, and around the step. Our enthusiastic instructors and spirited music will get you extra motivated for an intense workout!

Strength & conditioning
Speed, strength, endurance, injury prevention. This is what S&C aims at by consolidating best practices in weightlifting, CrossFit, calisthenics, HIIT and cardio training. It makes an extremely efficient all-in-one workout, while boosting performance in other disciplines. Centred around the intensive Workout of the Day (WOD), the 60 minute session is composed of a warm up, instruction and practice, the WOD and a cooldown. Personal interaction with the trainer is a key element, facilitated by small groups (max 12), a dedicated room and off session trainer presence. New to S&C or injured? Use the 30 minute meet up to consult a trainer prior to the workout.

Synrgy is a big, red fitness machine, that enables a very efficient total body workout. The trainings are 30 minutes. You will be tired. But satisfied! You will do a high intensity interval circuit training with a lot of variation and a high fun factor. At Amstelcampus and Universum.

Yoga basic
The name says it all; this is a basic yoga training. And therefor easily accessible for everyone. During this workout, you’ll perform common yoga poses and movements. Looking for more intensity? Try high yoga! If you’re interested in specific types of yoga, check out our fitness+yoga-membership.

Zumba is a combination of fitness and dance movements set to world and Latin music such as salsa, merengue, reggaeton, cumbia, calypso, flamenco, and hiphop. Do you like swinging music and want to lose weight? Then this is your workout! Party mood guaranteed.
