Updates heat
Update 25 June 2026
Tomorrow, Friday 26 June, the alert level will be raised to code red. As it will be extremely hot, we do not consider it safe for USC staff and members to come to our locations.
- PLEASE NOTE: All USC locations (including cafes) will be closed on Friday 26 June.
- Classes are cancelled, and you cannot come and work out on your own either.
- Courses are also cancelled. If you had a course session scheduled for Friday, you will be informed at a later moment about rescheduling or alternative arrangements.
- The futsal competition and Student League are also cancelled.
- Regarding exams at sportcentrum Universum, please keep an eye on communication from the UvA.
It will also be very hot on Saturday; we will keep you updated on this page whether USC will be open or remain closed that day.
Update 23 June 2026
It is very hot in Amsterdam these days, so here is a little reminder for everyone coming to train at USC.
Classes are continuing as usual. Our trainers are taking the temperature into account and adjusting the intensity of the class where necessary. So, you might expect a slightly less intense training than you are used to 😉.
Are you coming to one of our locations? Here we have a few tips:
- Drink plenty, preferably an isotonic sports drink
- Listen to your body and take a rest if needed
- Adapt your training to the conditions
- Also, keep an eye on your fellow athletes
In short: keep working out, but use your common sense.
