This week’s trainer is… Jelmer Stiekema!
1: When did you start working at USC?
I started here when I was 21. So, as of this year I’m working at USC for ten years already!
2: If we can’t find you, at what USC location should we start our search? And what do you like about that location?
I work three days a week at ASC and two days a week at Universum. At ASC it’s all somewhat on a smaller scale, which results in a more trusted circle culture. You have a talk with everybody and you learn about each other’s weekends. And this also makes it a little bit easier to approach people for help.
3: Is there something maybe not a lot of people at USC know about you?
I guess… that I built up my own RV last summer! 😉
4: A sports career is characterized by highs and lows. What is your most memorable highlight?
My bronze medal at the 2020 National Championships Weightlifting!
5: What accomplishment are you most proud of as a trainer?
That I bring people together through sports. At ASC we sometimes have a fun trip with members, where at we do a cool, sport-related activity like climbing in Amsterdam North.
6: And last but not least… What is your best characteristic as a trainer?
That I’m able to motivate people to go the extra mile in a responsible way.
