Internship at USC
Students of UvA, AUAS (HvA), ROC van Amsterdam-Flevoland, Mediacollege Amsterdam, HMC Amsterdam, and Hogeschool Inholland can do all kinds of practical and research internships at USC. Students from other educational institutions are also welcome. We offer sports-related internships, but you can also come to USC for a business economics, social studies, or psychology internship. After all, about 300 people work for USC and we accommodate over 20,000 members at 7 different locations. So, plenty to do and research!
Please note! For some internships it’s necessary that you speak and write Dutch fluently.
Research opportunities
Student wellbeing
Student wellbeing is of great importance to educational institutions and to USC. Therefore, we do everything we can to make a positive contribution to this. An important research question could be:
- How can USC’s sports offer contribute to student wellbeing and better mental health?
Recruitment & retention
Without members, no USC. It is therefore important to recruit members and to retain them. We are constantly asking ourselves: what makes USC attractive to come and workout? How can we increase our visibility? How can we attract more new members?
- Are you coming up with a strategy to improve recruitment and retention at USC?
Inclusivity
USC wants to be a place where everyone feels welcome and valued. Will you help USC answer questions like…
- How can USC ensure that all gender groups feel safe at the various USC facilities?
- How can USC ensure that participants from different backgrounds, cultures, and gender identities want to participate in our sports programme?
Sports offer
Sports is USC’s core business, so there are always plenty of questions to answer in that area.
- How will USC ensure that our sports offer connects with Gen Z/our target audience?
- What trends do we see in the sports world, how can we implement those at USC, and how do we stay connected to the sports desires of future generations?
Community
At USC, we focus on bringing students from different programmes and backgrounds together in a casual way. A possible research question could be:
- How can USC encourage meeting at USC sites?
Economy, finance and business
Education is facing major budget cuts. USC is also going to be affected.
- Will you (alone or in a group) write the financial plan that will get USC through these turbulent times?
Sports and fitness: practical internships
You can do your fitness internship at USC, or intern in a different sports area. Let us know what you like, what kind of sports you’re interested in, and why you want to do your internship at USC.
